Border Blooms might also have been called Borders Blooms, being a florist located in the Scottish Borders.
With a collection point situated in Duns service station (along with Aitken-Walker cars), Border Blooms is a great place to pick up a bouquet or basket of flowers. These are ideal for birthday or anniversary gifts, or even for parents with a new baby.
Other occasions or special events you might want to consider for flowers are: christenings, engagements, graduations, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day (and Father's Day), Easter and Christmas. Any American friends visiting Scotland would appreciate a bouquet for thanksgiving. Flowers can also be good when sending a get well wish, or even just to affirm your friendship with someone special.
Floral arrangements for weddings or funerals might be better delivered to your door. We are also pleased to offer advice on suitable arrangements in memoriam, or for remembrance Sunday. Expressing sympathy can sometimes be difficult, but we can help.
We also provide fantastic service for corporate events, and can transform anything from a castle to an open plan office with floral displays suitable for anything from shareholder meetings to something simple for bosses to show their appreciation on secretaries day (a secretary works better all year for a boss who gives her flowers on just one day)! Corporate presentation events can double up, calling on Border Blooms to make the venue attractive AND provide flowers as gifts of congratulation.
You will also find that no matter how good the food at a corporate banquet, it always seems better with the presence of fresh green leaves and flowers decorating the table, in addition to the greens decorating your plate!
Border Blooms has years of experience behind it to give you beautifully balanced floral arrangements, but of course everyone has their preferences and we are happy to leave out flowers you specifically dislike, or emphasise your favourites.
We list here some of our more common types; many of these are best in bouquets, while some are versatile enough to also be used in sprays (carnations), bunches (tulips, daffodils) or on their own: a single red rose speaks volumes of your love when romantic speeches are beyond your confidence. If you want show romance, but lack the Romeo instinct, say it with flowers! And always remember, thank you can be accepted easily, but sorry sounds better with a bow wrapped around it.
The flowers are: alstromera, anthurium, cala lilies, cala lily, carnation, celosia, daisies, daisy, delphinium, eryngium, fern, freesia, gerbera, gypsophila, hypericum, iris, lilac, lilies, lily, limonium, lisanthus, longi lilies, orchid, peaonia, protea, ranunculur, rose, sea holly, sea hollies, september, solidgo, stargazer lilies, stargazer lily, statice, stooks, sunflower, tulip.
Remember the effect is not just about the flower from the plant - we also consider all aspects of stalk and stem, leaf and bud, to give a pleasing effect in a way that lasts. Flowers come in many shades of many colours ( blue, pink, purple, red, scarlet, white, yellow) but they all look best with some support from green!
We are active throughout the Borders, and are happy to help wherever you stay: Duns, Cheeklaw, Gavinton, Edrom, Preston, Lintlaw, Blackadder, Whitelaw, Chirnside, Ayton, Choicelee, Polwarth, Swinton, Swintonmill, Leitholm, Hutton, Allanton, Norham, Whitsome, Horndean, Fishwick, Foulden, Greenlaw, Paxton, Burnmouth, Coldingham, Coldstream, Eyemouth, Galashiels, Kelso, Melrose, St abbs, Houndslow, Westruther, Gordon, Huntlywood, East Morriston, Eccles, Birgham and anywhere else in the region.
